SGCMS is looking to restart its school PTO. We will have our first meeting to gauge interest on Monday, August 28th at 6:00 PM in the library. If you are interested in being a part of the PTO we would love for you to join us Monday evening.

The SGC lady hornets continued their hot start of the season. After going undefeated and winning the Milan Mania tournament, last weekend they swept Union City, Monday and Martin, Friday in double headers .
Adelynn Lee continued her impressive first year with the team by throwing team’s first no hitter of the season vs Martin and improving to 3-0 on the year while leading the team in strikeouts.
Monday the Hornets improved to 9-0 on the year beating Milan 12-3 . Ava Owens came in relief in a huge spot and picked up the win improving to 3-0 on the mound.
Eliza Whittemore continued her hot hitting going 2-2 at the plate and improving her team leading average to .650
The lady hornets are scheduled to play again Thursday vs Crockett County at Medina.

After further discussions and concerns regarding extreme temperatures, the 6th grade football game that was scheduled for tonight at Humboldt has been canceled.
Due to extreme temperatures, the softball game tonight at Milan has been moved from a 5:00 PM start time to a 7:00 PM start time. Tickets are $5 online via Ticket Spicket or $8 at the gate.

Yesterday, Mrs. Griffin's students were building rectangular prisms to explore how to apply the volume formula with a hands-on approach. Once they built their prism, they had to compare and contrast their models with their peers.
